Peterborough saw a rise in homebirths from 39 in 2009 to 56 in 2010. Figures are gently growing with 9 homebirths in September 2011 alone!

2012 meeting dates are announced for Peterborough Homebirth Group, Peterborough Maternity Services Liaison Committee and Peterborough Link Maternity Sub-group. We are ensuring that a member of the homebirth group can attend each meeting to ensure that Peterborough Homebirth Group is represented and can feedback all experiences and current issues.
Through our work representing local mothers on a homebirth working group with the local Community Midwives we are together finalising a new leaflet about choices around planning your birth which will include more homebirth information. These will be give to mothers at booking in and later again during antenatal appointments.
A national network for administrators of Homebirth Support Groups is being launched soon to help provide a more co-ordinated approach to events and promotion.
